Free Personality Compass Quiz
Take a free 12-question personality compass quiz to map your social energy, structure, novelty, and decision style. Private and completed in your browser.
There are no wrong directions.
Answer with your typical preference, not the version of you that had a very unusual Tuesday.
After a busy week, unplanned time alone usually restores me.
What the Personality Compass measures
This short reflection maps four everyday tendencies: How you recover social energy, how much structure helps, how actively you seek novelty, and whether care first looks like empathy or solutions. It describes a current pattern rather than assigning a fixed type.
How your personality compass is calculated
Each of the 12 statements contributes to one dimension. Opposing statements are reverse-scored, then the browser combines three responses per dimension. A result near the middle means context probably changes your preference; it is not a weaker result.
How to use your compass result
If you receive Quiet recharge and Open rhythm, you might protect solo time after a busy event while keeping the rest of the weekend flexible. Test the result against two ordinary weeks before changing plans around it.
Use typical input
Choose what is usually true rather than an ideal answer or one unusually difficult day.
Read the pattern
Treat the result as a prompt to observe, compare, or discuss—not as a verdict.
Edit and verify
Keep only the wording or suggestion that fits the real people and situation involved.
When the personality compass helps, and when it does not
| Situation | What to do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| You keep getting different test results | Answer for a typical month, not this week | The compass shows which pair is genuinely close |
| A friend says you have changed | Compare the result with how you behaved a year ago | Preferences move slowly; circumstances move fast |
| You want a label for a bio | Skip it | A four-letter code is a conversation starter, not an identity |
What this questionnaire cannot do
It cannot tell you whether a preference is helping you. Two people with the same four letters can have completely different friendships.
Try this: Read the result beside the four preference explanations rather than as a verdict.
Read the thinking behind the Personality Compass
The 3 min version above is deliberately short. The reasoning sits in the guides it came from — introvert, extrovert, or ambivert?, how to identify your core values, and how to be more yourself around people. All three sit in the know yourself collection, and every tool on this site runs in your browser — nothing you type is sent to Like You. See the full tool directory for the rest.
Personality Compass questions
Is the Personality Compass a diagnosis?
No. It is a short educational reflection on four everyday tendencies, not a clinical assessment or fixed identity.
What does a middle result mean?
A middle result usually means context changes your preference. Compare ordinary weeks before deciding whether the label is useful.
Are my answers saved?
No. Scoring happens in your browser and Like You does not receive or store your responses.
